The former head of the US Centre for Disease Control has given “quite extraordinary evidence” that the US government likely helped fund the development of SARS-CoV-2 – the virus behind COVID-19, says Sky News host Sharri Markson.
“He now joins the FBI, the Department of Energy and many others in speaking out publicly.
She said Robert Redfield gave evidence at the “explosive first hearing” of the new Congressional Committee investigating the origins of COVID-19
“He said American tax dollars funded the gain-of-function research that created COVID-19,” Ms Markson said.
“He said that as a virologist he felt it wasn’t scientifically plausible that this virus just naturally leapt from a bat to humans and then became the most infectious virus we’ve seen in a century.”
